Rose City Pediatrics

New Patients

Welcome to Rose City Pediatrics! We love babies and kids and consider it an honor to care for your children. The following information is designed to answer questions many people have about joining the practice.

We are in suite 415 of the Huntington Plaza building, which is located at 800 South Fairmount Ave. The building is on the corner of Fairmount and Bellefontaine, two blocks south of California and one block west of Fair Oaks. We are located directly across the street from the Huntington Memorial Hospital. The parking entrance is on Bellefontaine between Fairmount and Fair Oaks Avenues.

The office is open from 9:00 to 12:30 and from 2:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday, and by appointment only.

Appointments and Availability

In the vast majority of cases, your appointment will be scheduled with your doctor. Exceptions are made for ill visits if your doctor does not have an opening and your child needs to be seen. In this case, your child will be seen by one of the other physicians in the practice.

Every effort will be made to accommodate your request for date and time. The physicians of Rose City Pediatrics set aside twice the industry standard for same day ill visit appointments. As a result, if your child is sick it is very likely that he or she will be seen on the day you call. If you think your child needs an appointment, please try to call early in the day, so we can best accommodate your request for appointment time. In general, early morning and early afternoon appointments are reserved for physical examinations; late morning and late afternoon appointments are predominantly for ill visits. Exceptions can be made based on your preference and availability.

After Hour Phone Calls

There is a doctor or nurse available by phone 24 hours a day 7 days a week for urgent advice.  In an emergency, you should call 911 immediately before calling us. Emergency pages are routinely returned within ten minutes. In urgent but not emergent circumstances, calls are routinely returned within sixty to ninety minutes. After hours the on-call doctor or nurse can be reached by dialing the main number (626)449-8440 and leaving a voicemail following the appropriate prompts.  Doctors and nurses are only able to return phone calls from blocked phone numbers so make sure the phone number you leave is able to receive blocked phone calls!  In the event that caller ID blocking is not permitted by your phone, you will receive a collect phone call back.

Advice during office hours

For your convenience, a telephone nurse is available to answer your health related questions during office hours. We presently have three nurses on staff, each of whom possesses significant expertise in pediatrics. All of the nurses have their own children. To reach the phone nurse, press 3 when the voice mail message begins. If the nurse is on the phone with another patient, you will be asked to leave a message and the nurse will call you back. Calls are returned in the order received. This service is extremely popular, and is busiest on Mondays and Fridays.  Remember, this service is only available to patients who are established (i.e. have seen a doctor) in our practice before.

We accept most PPO and Tier II POS plans. All physicians in the group are credentialed with the same PPO and Tier II POS plans. Tier I POS plans or HMO insurance plans are not accepted. We strongly recommend that POS subscribers check to ensure that well child care and immunizations are covered in our office.
